Happy Birthday Blossoms

Hiya! I am back as promised! :)

Today I am going to show you the card I made to match the gift set from yesterdays post. I of course once again used the stamp set, 'Betsy's Blossoms'. I inked up the large blossom and the stem stamp for this card.

I started with a crumb cake background to match the gift set, and added some stamped panels of white card stock.

I once again used shades of blue, the birthday girls favourite colour. I have used Tempting Turquoise, 'Pool Party' (love!) and the new, 'Midnight Muse'. The stem is stamped in 'Certainly Celery'.

The sentiment is from 'So Happy For You', a Sale-a-bration set and was stamped in Basic Black.

I was very happy with how the card turned out, I love the look of the panels. I am also loving the large blossom in this set and think it may see a lot of ink!

Thanks for stopping by today, please leave some comment love if you can spare the time. I always love to read them!

One Card, Four Challenges

Hi there!

Addition: Make that six challenges! This card has since been added to the April  Showers bring...Creative Challenge over at So Shelli and the A La Card Challenge #50 Nature over at A La Card Monkey.

My card today is once again for one of Charlotte's little friends. She is quite the socialite lately! Lots of birthday parties!

I have used the Inkspirations Sketch #63, which had unfortunately closed before I finished my card, so I cannot submit it. I have paired this with the colours of the Colour Q #78 challenge, the "Flower Palette" from The Shabby Tea Room week #55 and the punch inspiration from Pals Paper Arts punch challenge

I just loved the colours over at the Colour Q challenge this week, so I just had to play along. Keesh's sketch was eyecatching as usual and the Shabby Tea Room inspiration pic reminded me of my bedroom colour scheme.  The brief over at The Shabby Tea Room was to use the pink, white and green and to add flowers.

I have seen the inlaid embossing technique all over blogland, and just had to try it.

I used the 2 Step Bird Punch to punch the leaves and the Itty Bitty Punch for the flowers. I adhered these to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock which I ran through the Big Shot in the Lattice Embossing Folder. The owl was made using the Owl Punch with Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette Cardstock, also put through with the Lattice folder. I have used two of the hearts from the Owl Punch and a Basic Pearl to make a bow for the owls hair. Her wings were made using the wing from the 2 Step Bird Punch.

Materials:
(All SU unless otherwise stated)
Stamp sets: So Happy For You
Cardstock/ DSP: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz (I didn't have any Certainly Celery), Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Inks: Certainly Celery
Accessories: Satin Ribbon (Certainly Celery), 2 Step Bird Punch, Owl Punch, Pink Thread (own stash), Lattice Embossing Folder, Pink Pirouette Marker, Basic Pearl

Please contact me if you require any info and feel free to leave me a comment, I love reading them!

Two Birds with One Stone

I have scheduled this post, as I knew today was going to be a busy day. I hope it worked!

Today's cards were inspired by Monika Davis of M.A.D. Stamper. I killed two birds with one stone by flipping the sketch for the second card.

The first card was landscape and I used the colours Crumb Cake and the now retired Orchid Opulence (I love this colour). The ribbon is actually Rich Razzleberry but I find the taffeta colours are a little different to the true colours, so it works well. I used my favourite embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper as my background. Also you will notice I added my signature BLING!

This next card is my first attempt at using Marina Mist on one of my cards (You may begin to notice I am more a pink and purple type of girl).  I have paired it with Crumb Cake, am loving this colour at the moment!
I have flipped the sketch on this card to make it portrait and have added a strip of the Pinking Hearts Border Punch rather than the paper piercing edge. Use your Stamp-a-ma-jig (I love this thing!) to align your little birdy in its cage. Both sentiments are from the Sale-a-bration set, So Happy for You.

Click on the sidebar link to Sale-a-bration if you would like to get this stamp set for free.

I am really quite happy with both of these cards. I hope the recipients are too!

A late addition: These cards have also been entered into 'The Kraft Journal's' Spring Fling Challenge.  The brief is to use Kraft cardstock and to use the inspiration of the Spring Fling theme. I also entered it onto the 'There She Goes'  Get Krafty Challenge.
