Easter Owl

I saw this owl over at KB Papercraft and just had to make it! Just too cute, isn't it? This lady is so clever. The things she does with those owls!

I am going to enter this card into the A La Card Monkey Challenge, and the So Shelli Challenge.

Here is my version of the Easter Owl. I didn't have all of the punches that Kerry used, so I improvised.

I am thinking of using these owls as toppers for skinny bags of Easter eggs. Just depends how many I get made between now and then!

Here are some close ups to show the details.

Inlaid Embossing Detail

I must say that when I first saw the inlaid embossing technique, I wondered what all the fuss was about. It wasn't until I saw this post by Sarah Klass that I knew I could make it work for me and I just had to try it!

One Card, Four Challenges

Hi there!

Addition: Make that six challenges! This card has since been added to the April  Showers bring...Creative Challenge over at So Shelli and the A La Card Challenge #50 Nature over at A La Card Monkey.

My card today is once again for one of Charlotte's little friends. She is quite the socialite lately! Lots of birthday parties!

I have used the Inkspirations Sketch #63, which had unfortunately closed before I finished my card, so I cannot submit it. I have paired this with the colours of the Colour Q #78 challenge, the "Flower Palette" from The Shabby Tea Room week #55 and the punch inspiration from Pals Paper Arts punch challenge

I just loved the colours over at the Colour Q challenge this week, so I just had to play along. Keesh's sketch was eyecatching as usual and the Shabby Tea Room inspiration pic reminded me of my bedroom colour scheme.  The brief over at The Shabby Tea Room was to use the pink, white and green and to add flowers.

I have seen the inlaid embossing technique all over blogland, and just had to try it.

I used the 2 Step Bird Punch to punch the leaves and the Itty Bitty Punch for the flowers. I adhered these to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock which I ran through the Big Shot in the Lattice Embossing Folder. The owl was made using the Owl Punch with Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette Cardstock, also put through with the Lattice folder. I have used two of the hearts from the Owl Punch and a Basic Pearl to make a bow for the owls hair. Her wings were made using the wing from the 2 Step Bird Punch.

Materials:
(All SU unless otherwise stated)
Stamp sets: So Happy For You
Cardstock/ DSP: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz (I didn't have any Certainly Celery), Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Inks: Certainly Celery
Accessories: Satin Ribbon (Certainly Celery), 2 Step Bird Punch, Owl Punch, Pink Thread (own stash), Lattice Embossing Folder, Pink Pirouette Marker, Basic Pearl
