A La Card Monkey Challenge 52

Hi there!

This is my second and final week as guest designer over at A La Card Monkey. I have really enjoyed the challenges over the last two weeks and would like to thank Shirley and Terry for the great opportunity. I have had lots of fun!

This weeks challenge is a sketch/tea or coffee challenge. Here is the inspiration:

This week I made two cards, one tea and one coffee. They are both very different. One is more vintage looking in more muted colours and the other is very bright!

This card includes a tea bag holder on the front. It uses the Morning Cup stamp set from SU!. The colours are Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist and Regal Rose.
The bow is seam binding that I have coloured with a stampin' write marker. I coloured the image with my stamp pads and Aqua Painter.

Here is a close up of the details.

The second card is a lot brighter!

Once again it uses the Morning Cup set. The colours are Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo. The bow/ribbon detail is again seam binding coloured with a Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write marker. I have used one of the big buttons from the Autumn-Winter Mini.

Here is the detail:

I paper pieced the jug and mug with DSP.

  1. You've been an awesome guest designer, Sarah. It's been alot of fun! Thanks for sharing your talents at A La Card Monkey.

  2. Just wanted to say how cute I think your tea card is! I changed the Linky so it comes here instead of just back to A La Card Monkey.

    Thanks again!

  3. These are both awesome--I must say, that "markered" seam binding is wonderful! I must try that, I've only ever dyed mine with reinkers!

  4. Cool cards! Love the brightness of the second one myself. Hmm.. maybe I should also try coloring that ribbon with my markers! TFS!

  5. I love both the cards they are Tea-rific!! I am so happy that you got your stuff already, I could not believe it got there in only a week. I will keep my eye on your blog to see some stuff made with those stamp sets.

  6. These are too cute! I really love the tea bag card...great idea!!

  7. Both great cards Sarah. I love the little pearl handle on the teapot & your coloured seam binding is awesome! :)

Thank you for taking the time to leave me some comment love. It always makes my day!
