Easter Toppers

Hi there! Sorry it has been a while between posts! Some of you may have wondered where I had gone? I had a fab 4 days away with hubby......no kids! It was sooooo quiet! I had intended to schedule some posts before I left, but that didn't happen!

Today I have some bag toppers I made for Easter. Once again I had started with good intentions, I was going to make these for everyone, and once again it didn't happen. These were the only three I made and everyone else got chocolate bunnies! I did make some cards though to go with them. Most of which I have shared, but I still have one to post.

I used the owl punch to make more 'Owl Bunnies'.  I made a little blue boy one and a little pink girl one. I used the top note as the topper.

I also used the Top Note to make a bunny topper as well.

Here they are all together.
Materials:
(All SU unless otherwise stated)
Stamp sets:
Cardstock/ DSP: Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz

Happy Birthday Dear Friend!

Hi there! My second post today!

Today's card is one I made for a very dear friend, who is home visiting from London for two weeks. The card/present was from my family and another family who are also dear friends. Michelle's birthday isn't until May, but we thought we would give it to her while she was here, as it is more personal, and it saves on postage!

Enough rambling, here is the card.

I have used the Friends Never Fade stamp set and the colours are Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight. Another bright card today! I have used seam binding coloured with a marker and a Designer Big Button for the ribbon treatment.

I also decorated the inside of this one.

I have used this weeks Stamping 411's Saturday Sketch Challenge.

A La Card Monkey Challenge 52

Hi there!

This is my second and final week as guest designer over at A La Card Monkey. I have really enjoyed the challenges over the last two weeks and would like to thank Shirley and Terry for the great opportunity. I have had lots of fun!

This weeks challenge is a sketch/tea or coffee challenge. Here is the inspiration:

Click on the image above to join in or to send some comment love to the ladies over there.

This week I made two cards, one tea and one coffee. They are both very different. One is more vintage looking in more muted colours and the other is very bright!

This card includes a tea bag holder on the front. It uses the Morning Cup stamp set from SU!. The colours are Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist and Regal Rose.
The bow is seam binding that I have coloured with a stampin' write marker. I coloured the image with my stamp pads and Aqua Painter.

Here is a close up of the details.

The second card is a lot brighter!

Once again it uses the Morning Cup set. The colours are Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo. The bow/ribbon detail is again seam binding coloured with a Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write marker. I have used one of the big buttons from the Autumn-Winter Mini.

Here is the detail:

I paper pieced the jug and mug with DSP.

Materials:
(All SU unless otherwise stated)

Tea card:
Stamp sets: Morning Cup
Cardstock/ DSP: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Marnia Mist
Inks: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Basic Black

A girly owl

Hi there!

Today I have a case'd  owl card. I saw this card over at The Squareheaded Stamper. Don't you love her work! She is so talented, check out the Owl party she did for her daughter! Love it!

I changed the colours to make a pretty girly card.

I have used Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake and So Saffron. The Owl stamp was from Punch Bunch, which I punched out with the Owl Punch. I have added a little bow and some cute little pearls to make her all girly. The branch is punched with the 2 Step Bird Punch. I have stamped the leaves from the Something Sweet stamp set onto the Crumb Cake card using Versamark. I drew on stitching using a Basic Black Marker.

Here is a piccy to show the details:

I love the layout of this card, and will be using it again!

A La Card Monkey Guest Designer

Hi there!

As promised I am back to share the card I made as guest designer this week over at A La Card Monkey. The challenge was to make a humorous card using the sketch provided. Here is the sketch:

The Challenge Princess will be chosen on Friday and they will win a Challenge Princess Badge, a guest design spot and this lovely collection of goodies:

Make sure you go over and check out this challenge and give some comment love to the talented ladies who enter, or even enter yourself. Just click on the sketch above to visit the blog.

Well here is my card. (Sorry about the photo, another one taken at night as I had to get it in to the girls over at A La Card Monkey)

I used the All in the Family stamp set, the new Sweet Stitches DSP,  as well as a Designer Big Button from the new Autumn-Winter Mini. The colours are Melon Mambo, Regal Rose and Daffodil Delight.

The sentiment is computer generated. I used the RGB code for Melon Mambo to get the desired colour for the text. I paper pieced the dresses and popped the girls up on dimensionals.

Here is a close up of the details.

I will have to begin working on next weeks challenge very soon, just waiting for some supplies to arrive!

I will be back soon to share some Easter goodies I have been working on.

Easter Owl

I saw this owl over at KB Papercraft and just had to make it! Just too cute, isn't it? This lady is so clever. The things she does with those owls!

I am going to enter this card into the A La Card Monkey Challenge, and the So Shelli Challenge.

Here is my version of the Easter Owl. I didn't have all of the punches that Kerry used, so I improvised.

I am thinking of using these owls as toppers for skinny bags of Easter eggs. Just depends how many I get made between now and then!

Here are some close ups to show the details.

Inlaid Embossing Detail

I must say that when I first saw the inlaid embossing technique, I wondered what all the fuss was about. It wasn't until I saw this post by Sarah Klass that I knew I could make it work for me and I just had to try it!

Owl, Owls and More Owls and an award!

I have gone a little owl crazy lately! The SU! Owl Punch is so cute and there are so many things you can do with that cute little owl! Expect even more owl cards to come!

This is another birthday card for the little socialite! It also fits a few challenges, which is nice. It will be entered into the Nature Challenge, over at A LA Card Monkey, the April Showers Bring....challenge at So Shelli, the Anything Goes Birthday Challenge over at Birthday Sundaes, and the sketch is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 111 over at the sweetest thing. I always love Karen's sketches.

I made my card rectangle rather than square, only because I have yet to purchase any square envelopes! Must get on to that.

Here is my card.

It uses Pink Pirouette cardstock and some retired DSP. The Owl is punched in Crumb Cake cardstock and decorated with Basic Pearls. The branch was punched with the 2 Step Owl Punch from Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I used the Eyelet Border punch for the circle. I punched some strips and snipped them at small intervals and stuck them around the circle.

Here is a close up of the details.

The recipient loved her card, which was nice.

On another note, I woke to some lovely news on the weekend. My candles card won The Cream in Our Coffee, honourable mention, badge over at The Playdate Cafe for the Colour Challenge #74. Here is the card and challenge inspiration again.

And here is my badge!
It always seems to be the cards I'm not sure of? Maybe because I push yourself out of my comfort zone? Oh well, thanks for voting for me ladies! I am honoured.

Materials:
(All SU unless otherwise stated)
Stamp sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock/ DSP: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake
Inks: Regal Rose
Accessories: Satin Ribbon (White), 2 Step Bird Punch, Owl Punch, Linen Thread, Pink Pirouette Marker, Basic Pearls, button (own stash), Eyelet Border Punch

One Card, Four Challenges

Hi there!

Addition: Make that six challenges! This card has since been added to the April  Showers bring...Creative Challenge over at So Shelli and the A La Card Challenge #50 Nature over at A La Card Monkey.

My card today is once again for one of Charlotte's little friends. She is quite the socialite lately! Lots of birthday parties!

I have used the Inkspirations Sketch #63, which had unfortunately closed before I finished my card, so I cannot submit it. I have paired this with the colours of the Colour Q #78 challenge, the "Flower Palette" from The Shabby Tea Room week #55 and the punch inspiration from Pals Paper Arts punch challenge

I just loved the colours over at the Colour Q challenge this week, so I just had to play along. Keesh's sketch was eyecatching as usual and the Shabby Tea Room inspiration pic reminded me of my bedroom colour scheme.  The brief over at The Shabby Tea Room was to use the pink, white and green and to add flowers.

I have seen the inlaid embossing technique all over blogland, and just had to try it.

I used the 2 Step Bird Punch to punch the leaves and the Itty Bitty Punch for the flowers. I adhered these to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock which I ran through the Big Shot in the Lattice Embossing Folder. The owl was made using the Owl Punch with Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette Cardstock, also put through with the Lattice folder. I have used two of the hearts from the Owl Punch and a Basic Pearl to make a bow for the owls hair. Her wings were made using the wing from the 2 Step Bird Punch.

Materials:
(All SU unless otherwise stated)
Stamp sets: So Happy For You
Cardstock/ DSP: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz (I didn't have any Certainly Celery), Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Inks: Certainly Celery
Accessories: Satin Ribbon (Certainly Celery), 2 Step Bird Punch, Owl Punch, Pink Thread (own stash), Lattice Embossing Folder, Pink Pirouette Marker, Basic Pearl

Please contact me if you require any info and feel free to leave me a comment, I love reading them!
